The primary aim of the Van D'am Racing project is to provide under 19 and under 23 year old Australian cyclists with opportunities to race successfully at the highest levels in a supportive and healthy environment whilst continuing their education and personal development.
They believe that race results, which will be important to the team but not define it, will flow from developing balanced cyclists with the right opportunities and resources.
With a full schedule of local, national, and are first year of international racing, we are very proud to be behind the team in 2017 and beyond.
Top Under 23 Tri Athlete Nathan Rodgers is targeting a move to the big league of short course Triathlon. Albury based Nathan has been a supporter of Pedalit from inception, so was a natural choice for us to get behind.
With a win in 2017 already, watch out for Nathan in 2017 as he competes in the national series and Asian events. Go hard Nath!
#RoxsoltLadies was founded in 2013 as a composite team offering a home to Australian riders racing for international teams that needed a place to race for the Australian summer of cycling. Chloe Hosking, Kimberley Wells, Loren Rowney, Carlee Taylor, Tiffany Cromwell, Joanne Hogan, and Lauren Kitchen have all flown the Roxsolt flag. International talent have been keen to get in on the Roxsolt action - Lucy Martin (GBR), Valentina Scandolara (ITA) and Julie Leth (DEN) have all raced for Roxsolt in the last two years. Since inception, Roxsolt has won nearly every major race on the Australian summer calendar - the Launceston Cycling Classic, the Shimano Super Criterium (3 times), stages of the Mitchelton Bay Cycling Classic, the National Championships and the Oceania Championships.
For the 2016 season, #RoxsoltLadies has expanded beyond the Australian summer and will field a year-round squad with a focus on developing Australian and New Zealand talent. Key signings include 2015 Cycling New Zealand Female U19 Road Cyclist of the Year and Australian U19 Road Race Championship winner, Hannah Gumbley and Georgia Catterick. Both of whom have made the jump from juniors to elites this year, and Ruby Livingstone, who spent five months last year racing in Europe.
The team will focus on competing as part of the National Road Series (NRS), Victorian Road Series (VRS), and NSW Open races in Australia, Elite Women and Open races in New Zealand, and seek invites to selected UCI stage races.
Why do we love Paul van der Ploeg? It's his approach to life.
In these parts.. Albury / Alpine District, the Van der Ploeg family are legends for getting out and embracing all cycling disciplines at every level, with humility and a sense of adventure. Here is how Paul describes himself;
"I'm an international cyclist who competes in Australia and around the world. Since 2006 I have been addicted to cycling and the lifestyle associated with being a cyclist. As the youngest of 5 boys I have always been striving to be better and challenge myself to get the most out of what I do. It doesn't matter if I am Mountain biking on the world cup circuit, or racing a club dirt crit. As long as I'm on my bike and around vivacious and energetic people.... I'm happy."
A World Champion at Eliminator in 2013, multiple National Champion, but most importantly, a guy that loves riding bikes, and having fun.

James Downing is a mountain bike athlete from Canberra with a true passion for two wheels that has not diminished one little bit over the last 25 years. He competes in the nation's biggest mountain bike races for the Cannondale-Enve Racing Team, racking up results and life experiences at over 40 events each year. When not on the bike, he is thinking about being on the bike, and is more than likely listening to classic rock songs of the 80s! If you are into the social media scene check out what's happening:
